Master Painter Karl Gustaf Westerholm 30 October 1867 - 25 January 1924.

The year is 1903. Gustaf is 35 years old and has a wife and four children. Rachel Alice Maria (1902-1975) is sitting on her mother Johanna's (Hanna) lap. Elvi Mathilda (1891-1918) is standing and Gösta Mathias (1893-1975) is standing with his younger brother Thor Viktor (1896-1967) sitting in front of him. Gustaf's father Hans is dead and Gustaf is registered as owner of the lot #119 on Hamngatan 1a, and he is a master painter. The craft certificate was issued by Jakobstad's craft and manufacturing association in 1887 when Karl Gustaf was 20 years old. The youngest daughter, Irma Sofia was not in the picture because she was born in 1906 (and died in 1981).

Karl Gustaf's schooling:

Gustaf Westerholm graduated from Jakobstad's primary school on 30 May 1881. His teacher was John Holgers. The rank of marks was from six to one. It was a good graduation certificate with six in upbringing and manual craft, five in drawing and knowledge of nature and religion. Gustaf had lost four hours when he was thirteen years old.

On 15 May 1885, Gustaf received the certificate which proved that he had assiduously made use of the teachings as it had been taught in Sunday school. Gustaf was 17 years old.
